Maricopa County Parks and Recreation

LITTER:

Along with a weekend of fun, comes an abundance of litter. To help control litter at Lake Pleasant Regional Park, has teamed up with the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), and Maricopa County Waste Resources and Recycling (WRR) Department for an Anti-Litter Campaign to ask park-goers to pick-up and throw away their own trash at the county’s most-visited park.

As part of the partnership, all vehicles entering the park during the Fourth of July period will receive an orange trash bag, along with educational information about the impact of littering. And, WRR will provide additional dumpsters to give recreationists more options for trash disposal.

We would greatly appreciate it if you would either collect your litter and leave it in one of the many receptacles, and pack out what you pack in. As a way to thank park visitors for helping to keep the park clean, we will be running a Keep the Lake Pleasant Promotion from noon on Friday, June 29 through 11:59 pm on Wednesday, July 4th. To learn more, visit Lake Pleasant Regional Park's Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/LakePleasantPark/. #KeepTheLakePleasant #DontTrashAZ

Leaving no trace is everyone's responsibility.

  • Plan ahead and prepare.
  • Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
  • Dispose of waste properly (Pack It In, Pack It Out).
  • Leave what you find.
  • Minimize campfire impacts. - The park is currently under a fire ban.  On June 8th, the department expanded the fire ban to include smoking. To learn more, click here.
  • Respect wildlife.
  • Be considerate of other visitors.
