Annual Pass

UPDATE...THE NEW ONLINE ANNUAL PASS SYSTEM WILL BE LIVE ON THE SITE AROUND 9 AM.

COMING SOON: The department will temporarily suspend the sale of ALL annual passes from Thursday, June 25 to Tuesday, June 30 in preparation of our NEW online annual pass feature.

Annual pass sales will resume on July 1, 2020. The "Annual Pass Information" button on the home page of the website will redirect you to the new online site.

Annual Pass

Annual Passes provide a convenient and affordable way to visit Maricopa County’s regional parks. The passes provide day-use access to more than 120,000 acres of pristine Sonoran Desert parkland, and 100% of the proceeds from the pass sales are used to improve and enhance visitor recreation services. For those who visit the regional parks more than 13 times during the year, this option could provide you with substantial savings.

Please note, the annual pass offers park visitors a cost-savings option and is not a priority pass. The pass does not guarantee entry into the parks when capacity limits have been reached and are temporarily closed.  This brochure outlines the various types of Annual Passes available. Day-Use Annual Pass for $85

  • Entry via motorized vehicle or for an individual entering non-motorized.
  • This pass is good at any Maricopa County regional park, excluding Adobe Dam.

Guidelines:

  • Valid for one full year from the date of purchase.
  • Allows the pass owner, and accompanying passengers, in a single, private, non-commercial vehicle to enter Maricopa County’s regional parks.
  • Pass is not transferable from person to person.
  • An additional pass may be purchased for any member of the same household/address for $20. The additional pass, although issued with a different pass number, will always be related to the primary day-use annual pass and have the same expiration date as the primary card.
  • Valid for day-use only.  Does not apply towards camping, fee based programs, special use permits, second vehicles or watercraft when camping or towards ramada rentals. This is not a comprehensive list, and park visitors should contact the park(s) directly for clarification.

Add-On Additional Services

  • Archery:  $48 per archer per year, 16 years and older.
  • Boating:  $65 per motorized watercraft per year and $30 per non-motorized watercraft per year.

Hang Tags

  • Hang tag(s) are issued at the time of purchase with each Annual Pass. Hang tags for Hike/Ride/Horseback Annual Passes will be issued for special circumstances by park.
  • Must be displayed at all times depending on the type of pass issued.
  • During certain times of the year, the contact station may not be staffed. During these times, pass owners are required to display the hang tag so the expiration date is clearly visible for compliance checks by enforcement personnel.
  • Hang tags alone are not passes and are not valid for entry or use. The pass holder must have the pass in their possession or in their vehicles at all times depending on the type of pass issued.

Additional Card for $20 (Day-Use Annual Pass only)

An additional card may be purchased for any person(s) within the same household/address (proof of residency required). The additional pass, although issued with a different pass number, will always be related to the primary Day-Use Annual Pass owner.

Where to Purchase A Day-Use Annual Pass

Day-Use Annual Passes may be purchased at most Maricopa County park locations, excluding Adobe Dam, Buckeye Hills, and Spur Cross. The pass may be used on your very first visit. Day-Use Annual Passes are valid at the following locations:

  • Cave Creek Regional Park
  • Estrella Mountain Regional Park
  • Hassayampa River Preserve
  • Lake Pleasant Regional Park
  • McDowell Mountain Regional Park
  • San Tan Mountain Regional Park
  • Usery Mountain Regional Park
  • White Tank Mountain Regional Park

Using the Iron Ranger/Self-Pay Station

When entering the park(s) either by way of the main entry (no staff available to scan your pass), or by the trail access points with iron rangers/self-pay stations, please stop and complete the entry ticket.  This enables us to see the true usage of annual passes.

Also, if entering by vehicle, indicate how many people are in your vehicle so park attendance may be tracked. This helps the park better understand the usage of the passes, and is used to assist with programming efforts.
