Following the construction of the main and diversion dams, the Arizona Game and Fish Commission began stocking Lake Pleasant, creating one of the region’s most popular fishing destinations.

Today, Lake Pleasant is home to a diverse range of fish species, including:

White Bass
Striped Bass
Large Mouth Bass
Bluegill
White Crappie
Black Crappie
Bigmouth Buffalo Fish
Channel Catfish
Flathead Catfish
Green Sunfish
Redear Sunfish
Tilapia

Plan Your Fishing Trip

Lake Pleasant hosts several fishing tournaments throughout the year, attracting anglers of all experience levels.

A valid Arizona fishing license is required and can be obtained at most sporting goods stores or through the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
