Hiking
Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area features over 12 miles of trails that wind through a lush and scenic Sonoran Desert landscape. Individual trail segments range from approximately 0.2 to 5.2 miles, offering a variety of options for different experience levels.
One of the most notable routes is the Elephant Mountain Trail, a more challenging trail that leads toward the boundary of the Tonto National Forest. This route is best suited for experienced hikers and equestrians due to its rugged terrain.
The conservation area is known for its higher elevation and dense vegetation, creating a cooler, greener environment than many other desert locations in the region.
All trails are multi-use unless otherwise posted, and visitors are encouraged to share the trail responsibly.
