WHITE TANK MOUNTAIN REGIONAL PARK - BLACK ROCK PARKING LOT ADDITION
<
Purpose: To alleviate the shortage of parking spaces in Area 4 and to define a separate parking area for Black Rock Trailhead and its users.
Need: Demand for Area 4 often exceeds its parking capacity. Multiple types of visitors use this area and there are conflicts between ramada use, playground use, and Black Rock Trail use. In addition, Area 4 is commonly used for large park interpretive events, which maximize the Area 4 parking lot.
Description: A 48-parking stall lot will be developed on the west side of White Tank Mountain Road, northwest of the current Area 4 parking lot. A new trail connector to Black Rock Loop Trail will link this parking area to the existing trail. A separate ingress and egress from the parking lot will allow emergency vehicles to move through the lot and back to the main road efficiently. Room for the construction of a small bathroom at this trailhead will be planned for future installation.
