Facility Rental – Frequently Asked Questions
What does the facility rental fee include for a ceremony and reception?
The rental includes 8 hours of full facility use, including setup and clean-up, plus a 1-hour rehearsal and setup time before your event date.
Your rental includes exclusive use of the facility, outdoor patio, amphitheater, multipurpose room, commercial kitchen, dressing areas, tables, chairs, black tablecloths, the animal exhibit hall, and support from a facility coordinator, parking attendant, and gate attendant. Additional hours may be available for a fee.
Can I rent the facility for a ceremony only?
Yes. A ceremony-only rental includes 3 hours of amphitheater use and a dressing area for getting ready. This time includes setup and clean-up. The main building is not included, except for restroom access. A 1-hour rehearsal is also included.
How many guests can the Center accommodate?
- Up to 150 guests indoors (banquet seating)
- Up to 75 guests outdoors on the patio
- Up to 200 guests with combined indoor/outdoor seating
- The amphitheater can seat more than 200 guests
Does the Center host more than one event at a time?
No. Only your event will be scheduled on your reserved date.
When will my event begin and end?
You may choose your start time. All rentals include 8 hours total, including setup and clean-up. No event may continue past 12:00 a.m.
Is there seating at the outdoor amphitheater?
Seating consists of concrete terraces suitable for short-term use. To sit off the ground, please bring your own chairs, pillows, or blankets.
Is there access to the lake?
The public trail does not provide lake access, but several areas around the facility offer scenic views of the lake.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Your ceremony and reception may be moved indoors to the multipurpose room.
Are outside caterers allowed?
Yes. Caterers must be approved by the Center Supervisor and provide proof of liability insurance. Anyone handling food must have a valid Maricopa County Food Handler Card. A walk-in refrigerator is available.
Do I have to use preferred vendors?
No. You may choose any vendors. Provide vendor contact information at least 2 weeks before your event.
What is the alcohol policy?
Hard liquor is not allowed. Beer, wine, champagne, and pre-packaged alcoholic beverages (like seltzers) are permitted. A designated bartender must serve all alcohol in a pre-approved area. Glass containers are not allowed.
Is music allowed?
Yes. DJs and live bands are allowed indoors and outdoors. No noise permit is required. The multipurpose room includes a stage.
Are there restrictions on decorations?
Yes. Decoration guidelines are available in your tour packet or upon request.
Are tables, chairs, and linens included?
Yes. Round and rectangular tables are available, along with black tablecloths. Chairs are plastic/chrome stackable chairs.
When can I begin setting up?
Setup is included in your 8-hour rental window. You may also be able to set up on your rehearsal day. Staff will set up tables and chairs before your event.
Is there a dressing room?
Yes. Two dressing/ready rooms are available.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not allowed inside buildings. Outdoor smoking is allowed at least 20 feet from exits. Ashtrays are provided on patios.
How will guests enter if there is a gate?
The facility has a privacy gate. The bridal party and vendors will receive a gate code. A staff member will greet guests at the gate. Do not share the code with guests.
Is parking available?
Yes, but parking is limited. A staff member will assist with parking.
Is the Center accessible?
Yes. Buildings, the amphitheater, and the trail are all accessible.
Are children allowed?
Yes. Children must be supervised at all times.
How do I make a reservation?
Reservations are first-come, first-served. A signed Facility Use Agreement and a non-refundable $500 reservation fee are required to secure your date.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, purchase orders, and checks.
When is payment due?
The reservation deposit is due at booking. The remaining balance is due 30 days before the event.
Are seasonal discounts available?
Yes. Discounts are available after Memorial Day until before Labor Day weekend.
