Overnight Stay Packing List

The Desert Outdoor Center is an outdoor education facility. Participants spend most of their time outside, except during extreme weather. Please pack clothing and supplies appropriate for outdoor activities and changing weather conditions.


Bedding

  • Sleeping bag or 2–3 blankets with sheets
  • Pillow and pillowcase (optional)

Clothing

Please pack enough clothing for the duration of your stay.

  • Pajamas
  • Daily change of underwear
  • Daily change of socks
  • Two pairs of closed-toe shoes (no open-toed sandals)
  • Pants or shorts
  • Heavy and lightweight shirts (layers recommended)
  • Sweater or warm jacket
  • Raincoat or poncho (seasonal)
  • Hat for sun protection
  • Plastic bag for dirty clothes

Toiletries

  • Bath towel and washcloth
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Soap and shampoo
  • Comb or brush
  • Lip balm
  • Sunscreen
  • Facial tissues

Personal & Optional Items

  • Flashlight
  • Camera
  • Pencils and notebook

Group Leaders:

  • Please bring a battery-operated or wind-up alarm clock.

Important Reminder

The Desert Outdoor Center is an outdoor facility. During both cooler and warmer months, participants will be outdoors for much of the day. Please ensure children are prepared with weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear.
