Hiking
Spanning more than 10,000 acres in the southeast Valley, San Tan Mountain Regional Park offers a diverse look at the lower Sonoran Desert. Elevations range from approximately 1,400 to over 2,500 feet, with landscapes that shift from open creosote flats to dense saguaro forests.
Goldmine Mountain anchors the northern portion of the park, while the southern trails open to sweeping views of the Malpais Hills. Along the way, visitors may spot a variety of desert wildlife, including reptiles, birds, and mammals.
