Up for a challenging hike? Looking to get out on the trail, but don’t want to hike alone? This is a tough 6.5-mile hike on the Spur Cross, Tortuga and Elephant Mountain trails. The Elephant Mountain trail has a rating of extremely difficult, so expect lots of loose rock, uneven terrain and a challenging amount of elevation change (1200 ft); please know your skill and fitness level. You may find hiking poles helpful. Restrooms are available at the trailhead; please pack at least 3 liters of water, snacks and electrolytes. You may also want to consider having some extra water in your vehicle for when you get back. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes; hats, sunscreen and layered clothing are strongly recommended. NO pets, please.
Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $5 per person. Cash only is accepted, and exact change is appreciated. If entry station is closed, please place your money in the payment box at the gate.

If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 1/11.
