Enjoy a leisurely walk and talk program with Ranger Kevin all about the precious role desert rivers like the Hassayampa play in the Sonoran Desert. Click program title for more details.

Join Ranger Kevin as we casually walk the grounds of the Preserve at the tail-end of another desert day, stopping to observe plants and animals while conversing about the importance of riparian areas generally (and Hassayampa specifically) in conserving and protecting a wide range of wildlife. Length of hike is roughly two miles. Trails are rated easy, with very little loose rock, uneven terrain or elevation change; however, there are some sandy areas that make walking a bit more difficult. Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, bring plenty of water, and a flashlight. Restrooms are available near the Nature Center. No pets, please.
MEETING LOCATION: Front Door of the Visitor Center
Limit 12 participants. To register, please call the Visitor Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 9 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 10/3.
