Are you interested in creating a deeper, stronger connection to nature? Join Ranger Kevin to find out how. Click program title for more details.

Join Ranger Kevin as we learn how to make - or strengthen - our connection with nature through the practice of Silent Walking and Sit Spots. This is a beginner’s level class, so anyone who is interested in cultivating the skills needed to appreciate the natural world in greater depth is welcome. We will learn to relax, change our mindset, and allow our senses to unlock a closer and clearer experience of the Sonoran Desert. This program includes a short, 10-15-minute walk on the trails near Palm Lake, which is rated easy, with very little loose rock, uneven terrain and elevation change. Please wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Restrooms are available near the parking area. Please, NO pets.
MEETING LOCATION: Palm Lake picnic tables
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Visitor Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 9 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Visitor Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 2/27/24.
