The hike will cover 3.5 miles on rocky trail and gain roughly 400 ft on sections of the Tortuga, Spur Cross, and Metate trails. Along the hike you will learn about the native people that called the park home, what they ate, see where they lived, and see artifacts they left behind. Hikers should come prepared with 2 liters of water, sturdy shoes, hiking poles and sunscreen. There is no water in the park so make sure to bring more than you need. Bathrooms consist of porta potties at the trailhead staging area and will be passed at the very beginning of the hike.
