Join Ranger Nikki on an easy/moderate hike to watch the full moon rise and enjoy the desert aglow. Click program title for more details.
Ranger Nikki leads this hike to enjoy the desert at night while the full moon starts its journey across the sky. We will listen for coyotes, owls and nightjars as we make our way along the 2.2-mile Moonlight, Stargazer and San Tan Trails loop. The terrain ranges from even and smooth to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. Bring a flashlight to navigate some rocks on Stargazer Trail and to spotlight any small critters stirring around us. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. The Entry Station cash register will be closed at this time so please bring $10 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.
MEETING LOCATION: Main Trailhead picnic table.
