Join Ranger Derik for a guided fitness hike to learn about the animals, plants, and ecology of the Sonoran Desert. We will hike 7.8 miles roundtrip on a loop of Rock Peak Wash, Malpais, and San Tan Trails with moderate to difficult grade, and frequently rocky or uneven ground. Please dress in layers, wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen, wear sturdy footwear, and carry ample water, electrolytes, and snacks for yourself. There are no restrooms or water available at the Rock Peak Wash Trailhead parking lot, but restrooms can be found about a 10 to 15-minute drive away at the Nature Center.
