Discovery Station: Venomous Creatures

Saturday, August 15, 2026
01:00 PM - 02:00 PM
San Tan Mountain Regional Park
6533 W. Phillips Road
Queen Creek, AZ 85144

(602) 506-2930 ext 7

The desert seems full of scary, venomous creatures, especially this time of year! Ranger Jacque’s here to talk about the real lives of rattlesnakes, Gila monsters, scorpions, and other desert dwellers you may encounter. Click program title for more details.

It can seem like everything in the desert is out to sting, bite, or poke you. Ranger Jacque will give you the scoop about what's really going on and what to look out for. Drop on by for this unstructured, informal come-and-go style ranger table, where you can have a look at some of the venomous creatures behind glass, examine some artifacts, and learn that maybe the desert isn’t nearly as scary as you thought!

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center

No registration required. Just stop by any time between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm!
