Join naturalist and park volunteer Rich Fuhrmann Jr. for a mindful sunrise walk where you will practice "sit spot" techniques, discover how birds and people adapt to the summer heat, and listen to the desert wake up. This slow-paced experience encourages you to tune in to the sounds, movements, and rhythms of the early morning. It's a chance to deepen your connection to the landscape and start the day with intention.
Rich brings 20 years in education, currently serving as a middle school Dean of Students. He is a recent graduate of the Arizona Master Naturalists Program, cohort 8, and holds a current Wilderness First Aid certification. A core volunteer with Maricopa County Parks & Recreation and Trail Ambassador at White Tank Mountain Regional Park, he has led interpretive bird walks and specializes in desert ecology and group safety.
