Learn about the Sonoran Desert in this special area that showcases not only the “greatest hits” of a desert habitat but also life that is unique to a riparian environment. Learn about cacti, legume trees, cottonwoods, willows, birds, insects, reptiles and more. We will walk from the parking lot to Dragonfly Trail and explore the loop around the creek. The total distance traveled is up to 2 miles. The terrain is compacted dirt along the roadway and ranges from even to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot along Dragonfly Trail. To increase our chances of seeing critters - No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Portable restrooms are available at the main trailhead, ¼ mile past the Entry Station. There is no water available at the Park so bring plenty from home.
*Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $5 per person. The Entry Station will be closed so bring exact cash for the Self-Pay station or your Annual Pass to display on your vehicle.
