Learn about the plants and animals of our Sonoran Desert on an easy-paced walk with Ranger Olivia. Click program title for more details.
Ranger Olivia will point out a variety of plants, cacti, birds, lizards and more as you learn how these organisms adapt and survive in our extreme desert climate. The 1.5-mile route follows a portion of Lost Sheep and Chainfruit Trails, a section of paved road inside the campground and returns via Desert Hawk Trail to the Nature Center. The terrain is mostly flat and level with compacted gravel underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and sun-protective clothing and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.
