Join Ranger Kevin for a 2-mile evening hike along the Spur Cross and Metate trails. We’ll be on the lookout for all kinds of evening-active critters, from skunks to scorpions, spiders, snakes, fox, coyote, deer, owls and more! The trail is rated easy-moderate with some loose rock, uneven surfaces and elevation change. Please bring water and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes (Spur Cross has no available drinking water). Bring flashlights and black lights if you have them; some of each may be available to borrow. No pets, please.
MEETING LOCATION: Spur Cross Trailhead (past the entry station, near the picnic tables and restrooms)
Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $3 per person. Cash only is accepted, and exact change is much appreciated. If entry station is closed, please place your money in the payment box at the gate.
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 6/5/24.
