Ranger Nikki will lead you along the trails to seek out scorpions, owls, bats, kangaroo rats, stink bugs and more! The 2-mile route uses Spur Cross and Metate Trails. The terrain ranges from rocky and uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot to flat and level along the creek edge. There is a sloped downhill portion of Metate Trail that descends approximately 75 feet. Bring your regular flashlight and a blacklight. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. There is no water available at the park so be sure to bring plenty of your own for all members of your group. Portable restrooms are available at the Trailhead.

Limit 15 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number, number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 7/30/25.
