Ready for a rare look inside a real Arizona mine? We’ll be hiking roughly 1.8-miles round-trip to the Clay Mine, where an enterprising woman by the name of Leila P. Irish made a fortune. But it wasn’t gold, silver or copper that made her rich. The trails are rated easy-moderate, so please expect some loose rock, uneven terrain and elevation change. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring water. Hats and sunscreen are highly recommended. Restrooms are available at the Nature Center. NO pets, please.
