Ranger Nikki will teach you all about the cacti found in our park - cholla, barrel, hedgehog, prickly pear and the iconic saguaro. Learn how to identify them, how they survive and how they serve an important role in our desert ecosystem. The route uses Wild Burro and Beardsley Trails for an out-and-back hike totaling 5 miles. The trails are rated easy to moderate and vary from level and smooth to uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and sun protective clothing and bring snacks and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead.
