Learn about ways to identify birds that you see in your backyard and along hiking trails with an indoor presentation from Ranger Nikki. Click program title for more details.

Ranger Nikki will present a slideshow of common birds seen at Cave Creek Park and in local suburban backyards. See some sample field guides and learn about birding apps that use visual and sound cues to suggest identifications. You can prepare for this class by using your home internet beforehand to download the free Merlin Bird ID app and install the “US: Southwest” bird pack on your phone or tablet. This program will take place inside the Nature Center classroom and venture onto the back patio for firsthand observations. Bring your water and a snack to this indoor presentation. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.
