Spur Cross is turning 25! Join Docents Tammy Teegardin and Coni Grossman in celebrating this beautiful park by getting out on the trails and learning about the rich archaeological history of the area. The route includes visible evidence of prehistoric Hohokam dwellings and a guided discussion of their culture while trekking up to a mesa-top compound. The hike also incorporates a walk through a beautiful riparian corridor along Cave Creek. The hike will be approximately 2.5 miles roundtrip with about 300 feet in elevation change. Trails are very rocky so please wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Meet at the main trailhead area where portable restrooms and picnic tables are located.
