: Hike the baseline trail with Ranger Derik to learn about the many plants that can be
eaten in the desert and about the native peoples that first harvested them. Click program title for more details.
We will hike 2.35miles on the baseline trail and get sweeping views of the Estrella foothills and the phoenix valley. The trail is rated as moderate and will have sandy, rocky, and uneven sections so please wear proper footwear and if you need them trekking poles are not a bad idea. Make sure to bring water on the hike as well as a snack. Bathrooms and water are available at the nature center.MEETING LOCATION: Gila trailhead Limit 20 participants.
