Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area
Date: Saturday, April 3, 2021
Time: 7am-12pm
Location: Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area - park in the main parking area and meet at the trailhead where restrooms and picnic tables are located, just beyond the parking area
How many people do you want at your event: 10 or less
What should the volunteers bring: Work gloves, sunscreen, hat, eye protection, snack or lunch, and plenty of water. Participants should wear long pants and long-sleeve shirts.
What equipment will be provided: Picks, shovels, pruning shears, trash bags

Event Description: Removal of Fountain Grass in Boca Grande Wash. The invasive bunch of grasses will be physically removed by first cutting and bagging any seed heads and then digging up the grass clumps. A roundtrip hike of approximately 4 miles will be required, some of which will be off-trail in a rocky wash. Participants are required to have moderate hiking skills and must be able to work outdoors in the heat.
COVID-19 precautions: Mask and social distancing are required. If Covid restrictions warrant, the Park Supervisor will cancel and reschedule the event. Contact the park a week prior to make sure the event has not been canceled or rescheduled.
