Learn about birds of Sonoran Desert and migrant water birds on this walk with Ranger Eric. We will first meet at the Four-Lane (Castle Creek) Boat Ramp at the North Entrance; see map here: lake-pleasant-8x111.pdf (maricopacountyparks.net). We will scan the lake for water birds with a scope and binoculars. At this point in fall migration, we may see ducks, loons, grebes, and gulls out on the lake. For those of us up for a hike, we will go on the Cottonwood trail for 0.5-1 mile one-way, which is rated as easy, but may have some uneven ground. Please bring your own binoculars, water, and wear sturdy footwear.
