Maricopa County Parks is looking for volunteers to help establish a native seed garden. If you like planting and gardening this event is for you!

Calling Volunteers that love to garden and grow!

Maricopa County Parks is looking for 10 volunteers to help in the development of our new Native Seed Garden. This will include preparing the native seedbeds, testing out the irrigation, and setting the timers. We will be planting native plant plugs (~90) and seeds from locally sourced seeds.

The event is scheduled for Friday, March 26, 8 am -12 pm at Cave Creek Regional Park. Meet near the Maintenance parking lot (ask the folks at the entry gate when you arrive at the park and they will direct you).

Covid-19.  Adhere to state covid protocols including wearing a mask when within 6 ft of others, social distance and we will be grouping ten-person per leader to avoid overcrowding, so there may be some email communications the day before the event that direct you to a different meeting location within the park that is scheduled.

It’s going to be a great project. Our Natural Resource Specialist is excited to get these native plants in the ground, she has been growing since last October! And if you live nearby and want to continue to be involved with the Native Seed Garden maintenance let us know we are looking for a volunteer leader and volunteers to help in the future.
