It’s time again for the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation annual 100-mile trail challenge! November 1 is the official start date so take the first steps to your goal on a guided hike with Ranger Jacque. This beautiful 7.5-mile hike will be long, but very rewarding, with an elevation gain of 731 feet and rocky terrain. There is a gorgeous viewpoint 1.5 miles in, perfect for anyone wanting a shorter 3-mile out-and-back hike as a great turnaround spot.
Join us to learn about the park, make new friends and plan your next outings. Please bring plenty of water, close-toed shoes, snacks, sunscreen, hat, and hiking poles if you like. Please know your limits. Restrooms and water fountains are available at the trailhead. No dogs, please. This program is not recommended for inexperienced or beginning hikers. Please allow ample time to stop at the pay station, park, and walk to the trailhead if the closest parking lot is full. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 10/30/25.
