Ranger Olivia leads this picturesque hike to watch the sun set while also talking about any plants or animals that are of interest along the way. We will see the sunset, a beautiful mountain view, and maybe some evening critters as well. You may bring your black light and regular flashlight to look for evening critters(optional). This hike will start on the Palm Lake loop trail where we will connect onto the River Ramble trail, and finally the Lykes Lookout trail for a 1-1.5-mile out and back hike. The terrain is rated easy and smooth with small to medium rocks underfoot for most of the hike. There is a steep 90ft elevation gain at the end to reach the summit of Lykes Lookout where we will watch the sunset. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available in the parking lot in front of the Visitor Center.
