Join Ranger Nikki on a 2-mile walk on easy terrain among saguaros and other cacti as the sun sets on the western horizon and the full moon rises to the east. We will also be looking and listening for signs of nocturnal critters becoming active, such as nighthawks, poorwills, bats, owls, and scorpions. The route is an out-and-back walk on the Service Road. The terrain is mostly level but there are areas with uneven ground and small rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. No pets, please. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. The Entry Station will be closed please bring $10 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.

PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website (http://www.maricopa.gov/parks) is the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s current status. Please check the program listing online before coming to the park.

Limit 25 participants. To register, please call the San Tan Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 7 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 5/28/26.
