Desert Defenders – Seed Toss Events
It is time to toss our seed pellets! Join us!
We will fling native seed pellets created early this year into the desert of Maricopa County’s regional parks. The initiative to spread native seeds is a proactive step towards ecological restoration. These native seeds are selected for their resilience and ability to thrive in the local environment. Registering is required via sign-up.com. Events start from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Meet at the main parking lot.
Please bring work gloves, water, and a snack. Wear a long-sleeved shirt, pants, and closed-toed shoes. This activity requires hiking along nature trails. Some of the parks will have short and long hikes to disperse the seed, participants will be notified when the hike is longer then 2 miles round trip.
We encourage family participation; however, parents must be present for minors, and it is recommended that participants be at least five years of age.
Note: If fewer than two people register for each event, we reserve the right to cancel at least one day before. If canceled, email notifications will go to the registrants.
