The hike will cover 2.5 miles along sections of Metate and Spur Cross trails and is rated as easy. Please note that several sections of this hike can be loose and rocky in places. All hikers should bring a flashlight with fresh or fully charged batteries and blacklights if you have them. The park has no running water so make sure to bring your own. There are mobile bathrooms at the trailhead. Please note - signal is poor within the park. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 5/30/26. As the contact station will be closed please bring 5 dollars exact change for the iron ranger at the trailhead. PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
