Learn about the birds of the Sonoran Desert on this easy, short bird walk with Ranger Eric. Click on program title for more details.
**Please note change in meeting location to Area 4**
Join Ranger Eric on this easy guided walk to learn about the resident and migratory birds of the Sonoran Desert. Along the way we will discuss ways to identify birds by sight and sound, and about the ecology of the Sonoran Desert. We will hike 1.2 miles one-way (2.4 miles roundtrip) on easy to moderate grade Black Rock and Waterfall Trails, which is mostly flat, but some rocky or uneven surfaces as we approach the waterfall area. Although the waterfall is currently dry, the wash vegetation and occasional rock pools higher up the canyon regularly attract birds to the area. Please bring your own water and sun protection.
MEETING LOCATION: Area 4 parking lot by the restrooms.
Limit 10 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 5 with your name, phone number, and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 4/21.
