When we think of the Lake, we think of it as a single place. The animals that live here have a slightly different experience. Surrounding Lake Pleasant are a collection of micro-ecosystems that we, as humans, often don’t consider. Each of these systems has its own shape, environmental hazards and conditions, and slightly different rules. It’s not as different as it might be between the lake and the open desert, but just around the corner can be a much different world, especially when you’re only 3 inches tall!
Walk the charming Pipeline Canyon Trail (South) from Pipeline Canyon Day Use Area and back! This is a roughly 2-mile out and back hike on easy to moderate rated trail. This trail is the southern portion of the Pipeline Canyon Trail. A trail which, depending on the season and lake level, can be used to cross between the North and South sections of the Park.
