Ranger Nikki will introduce you to San Tan’s animal ambassadors, including snakes, a chuckwalla, a tarantula, a Gila monster and tortoises. Learn about their life cycles, adaptations and what you should do if you encounter their relatives on the trail. Activity sheets and coloring pages will be available for the kids. (There is a Tortoise Feeding before this at 8:30am. See separate program listing for more information). If you plan to hike before or after the program, be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.
