Interested in learning more about cacti? Learn and ask your cactus questions to Ranger Eric. Click on program title for more details.

When anyone thinks about the American desert Southwest, the image of a towering, multi-armed saguaro cactus is usually part of the image conjured in our minds. Prickly, majestic, intimidating, full of life, tough, and depended upon by all, saguaros are symbolic of the attributes inherent in those who survive in this harsh desert, and have earned the respect and admiration of many human cultures that have lived here over the millennia. Celebrate the upcoming 250th birthday of the U.S.A. by learning all about our stately saguaros and the several other cacti that call our desert home. Ranger Eric will host this discovery station table at the Cave Creek Nature Center. Nearby there are also live examples of a variety of cacti to see on the trail next to the center.
