Join Ranger Eric for a guided hike to learn about identification, behavior, and ecology of our Sonoran Desert birds during this guided hike. We will hike 2.6 miles roundtrip on a loop of Spur Cross, Metate, and Towhee Trails, including stopping by the Solar Oasis which should draw in birds despite the ongoing drought. Hiking will be on easy-moderate grade, with frequently rocky or uneven ground. Please dress in layers, wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen, wear sturdy footwear, and carry ample water, electrolytes, and snacks for yourself. Porta-potties are located 200 ft beyond the parking lot. No water available, so bring your own.
For those wanting to kick-off the start of the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge (Nov. 1-Feb. 8), this hike is a great way to work towards your goal! The challenge runs from Nov.1-Feb. 8.
