The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation annual 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge is underway! The challenge runs through February 8, and this guided hike is a fantastic opportunity to accumulate miles towards your 100-mile goal.
Join Ranger Jacque for a strenuous 6.2-mile fitness hike through the beautiful and rugged scenery of Spur Cross. We will tackle a challenging 1,054 feet of elevation gain as we traverse sections of the Spur Cross, Tortuga, and Limestone trails. The terrain is rocky, steep, and inclined, making this hike suitable only for experienced hikers who are accustomed to rugged desert paths.
We have scheduled 4 hours for this program, but please leave a buffer in your schedule as completion times can vary depending on the group's pace. Sturdy, closed-toe hiking shoes or boots are required, and trekking poles are recommended. Please bring plenty of water (at least 3 to 4 liters), electrolytes and snacks, as there is no potable water available in the park.
Please note that the meeting location at the trailhead picnic tables is approximately a quarter-mile walk from the main parking lot, so please allow extra travel time to park and walk to the tables. No pets, please.

If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 11/8/26.
