The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) advises drivers to plan ahead for temporary, daytime lane closures and possible delays in both directions near the Waddell area, west of State Route Loop 303 (SR303L) on weekdays, beginning Monday, September 29th through early October 2025 for pavement preservation work. Work will take place on sections of Olive and Glendale avenues, with crews moving between each work zone, completing one section before moving to the next.
The project includes:
- Chip sealing the existing roadway.
- Applying new striping and pavement markings.
- Cleaning up the work zone and other miscellaneous work.
The pavement preservation project will help extend the life of the roadway, renew the surface, seal cracks, and protect the road from UV rays. It is recommended to allow extra time for travel in the area as a pilot car will escort alternating lanes of travel in the area. Please watch for work crews, reduce speeds and obey all traffic control signs in the work zone.
Work Schedule:
Where: Olive Avenue between 203rd Avenue and Perryville Road; Glendale Avenue between Perryville Road and Cotton Lane.
When: Monday, Sept. 29 through early October, 2025.
Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
No weekend or holiday work is anticipated.
