Cookies: The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department collects no personally identifying information about individuals except when specifically and knowingly provided by such individuals. In addition, Maricopa County's Web servers may place a "cookie" on the hard drive of a user's computer. It enables Maricopa County's Web servers to manage communications between the server and the browser and may be used to store maricopacountyparks.net personalization information provided by individuals.

govDelivery Subscriber Cookie Statement:

This Cookie Statement explains how we (“Granicus”, “we”, “us”, and “our”) use cookies and other technologies in our communications services, including through our websites that link to this statement, such as public.govdelivery.com and content.govdelivery.com. This applies to you opening or interacting with emails delivered through the govDelivery services. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your right to control the use of those technologies.

In some cases, we may use cookies and other tracking technologies described in this statement to collect personal information. For more information about how we collect and process your personal data, please consult our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies and Why Do We Use Them?

Cookies are small data files that are placed on your device the first time you visit a website. Cookies serve a variety of functions, and we use them to make our websites and/or services work (or to work more efficiently) as well as to provide reporting information. Cookies help us to do the following:

  • Remember your username and preferences.
  • Keep track of who is visiting our website.
  • Respond quickly to technical problems.
  • Analyze how well our website is performing.
  • Recommend content most likely to be relevant to you.

Most cookies won’t collect information that identifies you, and will instead collect more general information such as how you arrive at and use our websites, or your general location.

However, certain cookies may contain personal information, i.e. information which may in and of itself personally identify you, and we may link it to personal information that you provide. For example, if you click Remember Me when logging in, a cookie will store your username.

2. Information About Third-Party Cookies

Cookies set by the website owner or service provider (in this case, Granicus) are called “first-party cookies." Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies.” Third-party cookies enable third-party features to be provided through the service you are using. For example, we use a web analytics tool called Google Analytics that helps us understand how visitors engage with our website.

These third-party cookies may therefore track your online behaviors over time and across non-affiliated websites. Third-party cookies may also deliver targeted advertisements either on our website or on other websites. We do not have control over the cookies used by these other third parties.

You have choices about the collection of information by third parties on our website. For example, if you do not want information about your visit to our website sent to Google Analytics, you may download a browser add-on to opt-out of cookies. Please note that the use of such add-ons does not prevent information from being sent to American Eagle.

Other Tracking Technologies

We and our third-party partners may use other related technologies, such as web beacons. These are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when you visit our websites or, in the case of web beacons, open an email that we have sent to you. This allows us, for example, to monitor your traffic patterns from one page within our websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of marketing campaigns.

While you may not have the ability to specifically reject or disable these tracking technologies, in many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to work. In those cases, declining cookies will impede the functioning of these technologies.

4. Cookies Served Through our Services Data Controllers

We serve as the data processor for various controllers, who are ultimately responsible for using our communications products and services to send you content.

Controllers Email Campaigns

We automatically place single pixel gifs, also known as web beacons, in every email sent by our controllers. These are tiny graphic files that contain unique identifiers that enable us to recognize when you have opened an email. Additionally, we rewrite URLs in the emails you receive from our controllers so those links go to our servers, and so they contain unique identifiers that enable us to recognize when you have clicked on a link. These technologies record the browser user agent, email address, IP address, date, and time associated with each open and click for a campaign. We use this data to create reports for our controllers about how an email campaign performed, and what actions were taken by the campaign recipients. This data is also available for our controllers to use to segment their audience for future communications.

Controllers Sites

If our controllers elect to use certain add-ons, these could require the use of additional cookies or tracking technologies. The specific cookies or other technologies on the controllers’ sites depend on the particular add-ons or features chosen. You should review the controllers’ privacy notices and cookie disclosures for further information about the specific types of cookies and other tracking technologies used on a given controller’s site.

5. How Do I Reject Cookies?

If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may set your browser to reject or alert you when a cookie is placed on your computer. Although you are not required to accept cookies when you visit our website, cookies help you and us to get the most out of our communications services, and you may therefore be unable to use all the functionality of our website if your browser rejects our cookies. The method to reject cookies varies from browser to browser; please visit your browser’s help menu for more information.

6. Where Can I Get More Information?

You can find general information and details about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org. If you have any specific questions about our use of cookies or other technologies, please contact us.

We will update this statement periodically to reflect changes to the cookies or related technologies we use.

7. Email addresses

All E-mail addresses maintained by Maricopa County contain the names of people who voluntarily communicated with or requested information from Maricopa County. At present, E-mail addresses or any personally identifying information about individuals are not sold or rented to any governmental or commercial entities. When a user has given Maricopa County his/her E-mail address for purposes of communicating with or requesting information from Maricopa County, that communications becomes a part of the public record and may be subject to disclosure under applicable Arizona and Federal statute(s).

For security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, Maricopa County's Web site also employs measures to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.

Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under applicable Arizona and Federal statute(s).
