Trails vary in length from approximately 1 mile to over 6 miles and range in difficulty from easy to strenuous, providing options for all skill levels.


Featured Trails

Moonlight Trail

For an easy and scenic experience, the Moonlight Trail is a great option. This relatively short trail offers a gentle route suitable for beginners and families, with beautiful desert views along the way.

San Tan Trail

For a longer and more challenging adventure, the San Tan Trail (approximately 6.4 miles) provides a more rugged experience. This trail travels through the Broken Lands and Central Valley areas and climbs into the Goldmine Mountains.

Visitors should use caution, as sections of the trail may include:

  • Sandy washes
  • Loose or soft soil
  • Steep, rocky terrain

Malpais Hills Trail

The Malpais Hills Trail is another visitor favorite, offering unique views of Rock Peak and the surrounding volcanic landscape. This trail highlights the park’s diverse geology and scenic desert terrain.
