Maricopa Countys Regional Parks Waive Day-Use Entry Fee for Veterans on November 11

Military Service Appreciation Day - November 11. The day-use entry fee for all Maricopa County regional parks will be waived for active and retired military personnel.(Maricopa County) To honor the men and women who have served our country, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation will waive the $10 per vehicle day-use entry fee for active and retired military personnel on Wednesday, November 11, 2026.

In 2005, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors issued a formal proclamation designating Veterans Day as Military Service Appreciation Day at Maricopa County regional parks. The annual tradition provides an opportunity for military personnel and veterans to spend the day enjoying the County's regional park system with family and friends.

“Veterans Day gives us an opportunity to recognize the men and women whose service and sacrifice have helped protect the freedoms we enjoy every day,” said Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chair Kate Brophy McGee, District 3. “Offering complimentary entry to our regional parks is one small way Maricopa County can say thank you to our veterans and their families.”

“District 4 is proudly home to Luke Air Force Base and generations of military members, veterans, and families who have contributed so much to our country and community,” said Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Debbie Lesko, District 4. “Their dedication and sacrifice deserve our gratitude, and I hope this Veterans Day provides an opportunity for them to enjoy time with family and friends in our beautiful regional parks.”

“Our regional parks provide places where people can slow down, connect with nature, and spend meaningful time with family and friends,” said Jennifer Waller, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Director. “We are honored to continue this longstanding tradition for our military community. In addition to complimentary day-use entry on Veterans Day, our department offers veterans with a service-connected disability a discounted annual pass, allowing us another opportunity to recognize their service throughout the year.”

At more than 120,000 acres, Maricopa County is home to one of the largest regional park systems in the United States. The parks are located throughout the County and most are within a 45-minute drive of downtown Phoenix.
