Cooler temperatures are on the horizon, and Maricopa County residents have another reason to start planning a fall camping getaway. Beginning September 18, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department will bring back its popular Buy One, Get One (BOGO) camping promotion, offering County residents an opportunity to enjoy free camping nights at four participating regional parks.
First introduced in 2008, the promotion was created to encourage Maricopa County residents to experience the beauty and recreational opportunities available in their regional parks before the busy winter season. For 2026, the promotion continues its focus on Maricopa County residents, providing local families and outdoor enthusiasts an affordable way to explore the Sonoran Desert close to home.
“Our regional park system is one of the things that makes Maricopa County such an extraordinary place to live,” said Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chair Kate Brophy McGee, District 3. “This promotion gives our residents an affordable opportunity to enjoy these beautiful public spaces, whether they’re returning to a favorite campground or discovering a County park for the first time. I encourage residents to take advantage of the fall weather and experience the natural beauty that is right here in our own backyard.”
Under the promotion, Maricopa County residents who book eligible developed or semi-developed campsites at participating parks can receive free camping nights during the same stay. Guests staying two to seven consecutive nights will receive one free night, while those staying eight to 14 consecutive nights will receive two free nights.
“Fall is a wonderful time to rediscover our regional parks and camping gives visitors a chance to experience the desert in an entirely different way,” said Jennifer Waller, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Director. “Whether you’re hiking a trail at sunrise, watching wildlife from your campsite, or simply spending time outdoors with family and friends, we hope this promotion encourages Maricopa County residents to create lasting memories in their regional parks.”
PARTICIPATING PARKS
Cave Creek Regional Park
Located north of Phoenix, Cave Creek Regional Park offers visitors the feeling of being miles away from the city while remaining conveniently close to the Valley. The campground features 55 developed campsites.
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Nestled in the lower Verde River basin in the northeast Valley, McDowell Mountain Regional Park is a Sonoran Desert destination featuring 76 developed campsites suitable for RV and tent camping.
Usery Mountain Regional Park
Located on the east side of the Valley at the western end of the Goldfield Mountains and adjacent to the Tonto National Forest, Usery Mountain Regional Park features 74 developed campsites that accommodate both RV and tent camping.
White Tank Mountain Regional Park
At nearly 30,000 acres, White Tank Mountain Regional Park is the largest regional park in Maricopa County. Located on the Valley’s west side, the park is known for its rugged mountain landscape and offers 40 developed campsites for RV and tent camping.
HOW THE PROMOTION WORKS
To participate in the 2026 BOGO camping promotion:
- Stay 2–7 consecutive nights: Receive one free night of equal or lesser value.
- Stay 8–14 consecutive nights: Receive two free nights of equal or lesser value.
- Guests must pay for the minimum number of nights required to qualify for each offer.
- The promotion is limited to eligible stays occurring between September 18 and October 31, 2026.
- The offer is not valid for stays booked before the official announcement of the 2026 BOGO campaign.
- Free nights must be used as part of the qualifying stay and cannot be applied to dates after October 31, 2026.
- The promotion applies only to developed and semi-developed campsites. It does not apply to primitive camping, group campground reservations, or unit fees.
- Rain checks will not be issued if camping space is unavailable.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
- The 2026 BOGO camping promotion is available exclusively to Maricopa County residents.
- Guests must present a valid Arizona state-issued identification card showing a Maricopa County address to receive the promotional discount. The BOGO discount will be applied after residency has been verified.
- Guests who are unable to provide qualifying identification will be responsible for the full cost of their reservation.

The promotion is not valid at Adobe Dam Regional Park, Estrella Mountain Regional Park, Hassayampa River Preserve, Lake Pleasant Regional Park, San Tan Mountain Regional Park, or Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area.
