The Department is continuing to develop comprehensive master plans for nine regional parks, with three parks evaluated each phase. These plans will serve as a roadmap for recreational opportunities, facilities, infrastructure, and natural resource preservation over the next 10 to 15 years.

"Our regional parks are among Maricopa County's greatest treasures, and planning for their future requires thoughtful collaboration with local communities," said Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Chair Kate Brophy McGee, District 3. "Inviting residents to get involved ensures future improvements reflect community priorities while protecting the natural beauty and recreational opportunities that make our parks so special."

"As our county continues to grow, it's important that we balance expanding recreational opportunities with preserving the natural landscapes that make Arizona unique," said Vice Chair Debbie Lesko, District 4. "These master plans will help us make informed decisions that protect our parks, enhance visitor experiences, and ensure future generations can continue to enjoy these incredible outdoor spaces."

"Community input is essential to developing park master plans that reflect the needs and priorities of the people who use and enjoy these spaces," said Jennifer Waller, Director of Maricopa County Parks and Recreation. "Whether you're a frequent visitor or someone who hopes to explore these parks in the future, we encourage you to share your ideas and help us plan for the next generation of park users and experiences."

The planning process includes evaluating existing park conditions, recreational amenities, services, and natural resources while identifying opportunities for future improvements. Community feedback will help guide capital improvement priorities, funding considerations, and long-term recommendations for each park.
