Lake Pleasant - High Water Levels Limiting Shoreline Access

Please note that the water levels at Lake Pleasant Regional Park are unusually high this year. Due to high water levels, shoreline access may be limited for primitive camping and day-use entry. To avoid potential delays, it is recommended you arrive early.  On holidays or busy weekends (i.e. Memorial Day, July 4th, Easter, etc…), the park may experience temporary or longer term closures.

The park anticipates this challenge will continue to occur thru mid-July. Currently...

  • the Concrete Spillway is under water
  • Two Cow Cove, Jet Ski Point, and Fireman's Cove, which are popular destinations for shoreline camping, are near capacity.

It is recommended that you visit the "Shoreline Access" page frequently for updates, or contact the park at (928) 501-1710. As temperatures warm up, the entry station will become increasingly busy. This may prohibit staff from answering calls.

If an area reaches capacity and has to be closed, an ALERT will be placed in the main ALERT section of the website (top of all pages). The ALERT will remain active until the area can be reopened.

While a campsite in the Roadrunner or Desert Tortoise campground may not be your preferred choice for during your visit, it does ensure that you will have a dedicated space waiting for you. If you are considering a visit over a holiday weekend, you may want to book a site ASAP as there are a limited number of sites available. Reservations may be booked at https://maricopacountyparks.org/.
