“Give Your Public Land a Hand” on Arizona Public Lands Day by assisting park staff and volunteers with the removal of invasive species! We will be targeting the removal of Sahara Mustard in trailhead areas, along roadsides, and around picnic sites. Volunteers must be physically able to kneel, squat, dig, and bag the plants. Please be prepared to work in an outside environment with the potential of warmer temperatures.
Volunteers bring: gloves, water, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, snacks, a hand trowel or old screwdriver to loosen dirt at base of weeds in order to help with pulling them out. If you have sensitive skin you may want to wear pants and lightweight long sleeves, as you will be exposed to plants during this project.
Directions: From entry booth drive 2.1 miles, turn left on Waterfall Canyon Rd. Drive .4 miles just past the Waterfall Trailhead and park in front of the large shade structures by the playground. Meet the group under these shade structures by the playground.
