Join Ranger Kevin for a fun and edifying look at life in the Sonoran Desert. Click program title for more details.

This program is perfect for visiting families and friends as well as those who might be new to Arizona or those who just want to understand the place they live in better! Enjoy a roughly 2-mile hike on the Waterfall trail. Along the way, we’ll talk about many things that make the Sonoran Desert unique to planet Earth. We’ll look at some desert plants and learn about the adaptations they’ve made to survive here. And, of course, we’ll also be on the lookout for wildlife like mule deer, javelina, squirrels, rabbits, various species of birds and perhaps a reptile or two. Trail is rated easy, with some loose rock, uneven terrain and elevation change. Please wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring water. Hats and sunscreen are also highly recommended. Restrooms are available near the trailhead. NO pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Waterfall Trailhead
