Please join the staff at Usery Mountain Regional Park on National Public Lands Day and "Give Your Land a Hand"! We will be weeding, raking, trimming, and painting around the park's Entry Station.
Date: Saturday, September 24
Time: 7:00-10:00am
Location: Usery Mountain Regional Park - Entry Station and the Campground overflow parking area. The overflow parking lot is adjacent and to the south of the Entry Station. Volunteers can park at the Nature Center and walk east to the Entry Station/overflow parking area.
Volunteers Needed: 20
What should volunteers bring? – Work gloves, water, salty snacks, sunscreen, hat, safety glasses, etc. Please wear comfortable/closed-toe shoes and clothing that can get dirty/get pain on.
What equipment will be provided? - We will provide trash bags, paint supplies, and a limited amount of shovels, rakes, trimmers, and loppers. If you have extra items at home, please feel free to bring them.
Event Description – Volunteers will help with weeding, raking, and trimming around the Entry Station area and also help to repaint marked parking spaces and gates. These tasks require a limited amount of walking and a moderate amount of bending, crouching, and lifting. The work is outdoors in developed areas in warm desert conditions.
As a token of our appreciation, all volunteers will receive free admission to the park for the entire day!!
