Join Ranger Nikki on a 2.5-mile walk on easy terrain among saguaros and other cacti during a beautiful desert sunset. We will also be on the looking and listening for signs of nocturnal critters becoming active, such as nighthawks, poorwills, bats, owls, and scorpions. The route is an out-and-back walk on the Service Road and part of San Tan Trail. The terrain is mostly level but there are areas with uneven ground and small rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. Please bring $7 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass.
Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The Maricopa County Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.
